Notts County Foundation is proud to announce Michael Harrison as a recipient of the prestigious Captain’s Corner award. A figure whose meticulous work often goes unnoticed, Michael has been the club’s statistician since 99/00, faithfully documenting the highs and lows of Notts County Football Club for 25 years.
Michael’s journey with Notts County began on a high note. His first game as a fan saw Notts County triumph over Halifax with a resounding 4-0 victory in 1965. Since that fateful game in 1965, Michael has been a constant presence at Meadow Lane and beyond, witnessing over 3000 matches. His dedication is unbelievable, as he didn’t miss a single Notts County game from 1967 until 2020. This remarkable streak was only interrupted by the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, which prevented many from attending live sports events worldwide. Despite this interruption, Michael’s contributions have remained invaluable, and his love for the game has never diminished.
