Premier League Primary Stars

What is the Premier League Primary Stars project about?

Notts County Foundation is a proud delivery partner of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, designed to engage and inspire boys and girls aged 5-11 years old. It uses the power and popularity of the league to develop skills and ambition both on and off the field, motivating children by connecting their learning to the world around them.

The programme has been carefully developed by teachers and industry experts, and is linked to Early Years Foundation Stages (EYFS) and the National PE Curriculum. The programme provides free quality-assured learning materials, such as prepared lesson plans, assembly ideas, videos, differentiated activities (online and class-room based), teacher notes, and assessments.

What difference does it make to participants?

Premier League Primary Stars is a programme designed to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills. The programme helps to enhance the provision of PE and support pupils’ educational attainment in other curriculum areas.

Our Premier League Primary Stars package entitles recipients to a lunch club, assembly, and collapsed curriculum day, in addition to two coaches who will work with two separate classes simultaneously.

Through Primary Stars, there is either one, two or three term options, all of which include the delivery of PE sessions by our Association for Physical Education (AfPE) qualified coaches.

During PE lessons, coaches will support staff with their knowledge and understanding of delivering PE sessions. This is a school-led programme designed to meet the needs of each individual teacher and pupil. Once areas for development are identified, teachers will have the opportunity to observe, team-teach and lead PE lessons with the support of Notts County Foundation coaches.

Local schools will also benefit from additional opportunities, such as CPD for teaching staff and social action projects. In addition, pupils will have the opportunity to represent Notts County Foundation at tournaments and events, gain access stadium tours, receive player visits and be offered complimentary match tickets.
