Last week, the Bolero Suite (Nottingham Motorpoint Arena) was transformed into a hub of excitement and generosity for a flagship fundraiser, the Notts County Foundation Gala Dinner 2024.
The event not only celebrated the incredible work of the Foundation but also raised vital funds for our ongoing projects and programmes aimed at improving community wellbeing.
One of the evening’s highlights was a conversation with Notts County Foundation ambassador Vicky McClure. Vicky praised the Foundation’s commitment to wellbeing support, commending the hard work and dedication of the NCF staff. Her reflections were further amplified by the powerful stories shared on social media, showcasing the Foundation’s impact in the community.
Guests were treated to an uplifting video that spotlighted the Foundation’s ‘Right Mind’ programme, which is dedicated to supporting women’s mental health. The focus on mental health was very fitting, as the event took place just after the launch of the Foundation’s new podcast, ‘Eye of the Magpie,’ coinciding with World Mental Health Day.
As attendees enjoyed a three-course meal, they were entertained by the incredible Roy the magician, who wowed guests with one-on-one shows and interactive tricks, adding an element of magic to the evening.
The audience also had the privilege of hearing from Paralympic champion Tully Kearney, with Mark Dennison taking on hosting duties. Their inspiring words further added the Foundation’s mission to invest in the wellbeing of communities.
To finish the night’s proceedings, there was a life raffle and live auction. Prizes included historic signed Notts County memorabilia and exclusive boardroom and play on the pitch experiences at Notts County FC. Guests were then treated to a DJ back down in the Green Room.
”We are incredibly proud of the Gala Dinner and it was great to see both the Green Room and Bolero Suite filled with our guests and a great atmosphere. On the night, we were able to give them a real insight to support we have on offer for communities and gave us a platform to amplify our projects and programmes.
Thank you to everyone who joined the Foundation in making the night, one to remember.” – Sam Crawford, Chief Financial Officer at Notts County Foundation
The Gala was attended by a range of notable guests, including Notts County FC staff, with first team head coach Stuart Maynard and his wife in attendance. Notts County Foundation were also delighted to welcome representatives from the University of Nottingham, Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA), Nottingham City Business Club (NCBC), Disabled Supporters Association (DSA), and Foundation partners ENSEK.
A special thank you to this year’s headline sponsor, ‘It’s in Nottingham,’ and drinks sponsor ‘Your Sport Solutions,’ whose support made the night possible. The Foundation are also grateful for the support from NCBC, The Dairy Agency, Tamily Cookson Events and Southside Cars.
The Gala Dinner 2024 was not just an evening of celebration and fundraising; it was a powerful reminder of the community spirit amongst local businesses and the vital role we play in supporting each other’s wellbeing.
